Etihad Rail Stage 2 & 3 · independent systems assurance
A complex multi-contract programme where design milestones were not linked to construction readiness, creating a risk nobody owned.
The challenge
A complex, multi-contract rail programme required independent systems assurance against defined safety and performance criteria. Design milestones were not linked to construction readiness, so a package could be reported 'complete' on paper while the works it enabled were not actually ready, an unacknowledged risk carried silently across contracts.
Our approach
Project Assure established a systems-assurance framework and integrated a design stage-gate assessment that tied each design milestone to demonstrable construction and commissioning readiness, with traceability from requirements through to verification. Assurance became a continuous, evidence-based process rather than a paperwork exercise at handover.
Outcome
Outcome
Systems assurance framework established. Design stage-gate assessment integrated. Assurance deliverables issued across construction and commissioning phases, with readiness and interface risk made visible and owned.
